GO!
God moved powerfully through our worship service last Sunday. Speaking prophetically, Pastor Denny encouraged us that God will fulfill His promises. Our droughts are over. Heaviness, depression, and grief are released. God loves us and wants to be in a forever relationship with us.
Our pastor concluded the “Matters of the Heart” series with a message on community. He said we are to love our community as Christ did. He told us that Jesus loved the community when He ate with publicans, tax collectors, and sinners. Jesus was loving the community when He visited the disabled at the pool of Bethesda. Likewise, Jesus was loving the community when He ministered to the Samaritan woman at the well. Jesus even loved the community when He performed His first miracle at the wedding in Cana. With the wedding miracle, Pastor Denny reminded us that Jesus was reluctant at first but moved in response to receiving a Word. Sometimes we’re hesitant about helping our community as Jesus did, but we must put our flesh under subjection and heed the Word.
Mark 16:15 is our mandate, and we’re already equipped. We must believe and go! God is calling us to be more in our families, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Instead of rebuking those around us, we are to tell them about the goodness of Jesus. There’s no need to be a fanatic; just be accessible. Be ready to be used by God whenever, however. Wake up and ask God, “Lord, what do You want me to do today?”
Pastor Denny told us that God called us to do more than simply shout and speak in tongues. We’ve been called to do a work for the Lord. We’ve been called for greatness. Go! God is with us, and He never fails.
